About me
Hi, I’m Jeff.
I’m trying to make the world a better place, avoid boredom, and discover the perfect balance between under-automation and over-engineering.
The lack of optimal automation is a thief of time and creativity.
I also love to take pictures and search for the ideal photography workflow.
I believe in outsourcing anything I’m not either excellent at or actively trying to improve.
Recently, I’ve worked as a:
- quantative systems engineer
- software engineer
- criminal defense / civil litigation attorney
Other random items that I like to spend time exploring:
- cryptocurrency, first as a fascinating economic experiment, and secondly as a financial instrument with high volatility that is (for now) retail driven.
- cryptocurrency’s disruption of traditional fintech
- triathlons
- minimalism
- writing
- deep learning
- python
- devops
- searching for the perfect time-series database for financial analysis (so far, the best I’ve found is https://github.com/manahl/arctic (anything down to tick data) and https://parquet.apache.org/ anything under tick data), that is unless you have kdb money (and developers).
I’m a recovering perfctionist.
